zoar is a local-first tool. Your project files live on your own machine — we never see them, store them, or access them unless you explicitly choose to deploy using our hosting service. This privacy policy explains what little data we do collect and how we use it.
When you use the zoar editor at zoar.dev, we collect:
We do not collect your name, email, or any personal information unless you contact us directly or sign up for our hosting service.
The zoar editor runs entirely in your browser. Your .zoar files are opened and saved directly to your local filesystem via the File System Access API. They never leave your device unless you use our deploy feature. We have no access to your project files.
If you use zoar's hosting service, your compiled HTML and CSS output is stored on our servers to serve your website. Your source .zoar files and any environment variables are stored encrypted. We do not share your project data with third parties.
The zoar editor does not use tracking cookies. If you sign up for a hosting account, we use a session cookie to keep you logged in.
We use Deno Deploy to run your hosted projects. Their privacy policy applies to deployments. We use basic analytics that are GDPR compliant and do not share data with advertising networks.
